The Tanzania Fintech Association (TAFINA) has joined industry leaders to examine the growth and future of the country’s fintech sector at an Innovation Week Tanzania session focused on the industry’s journey from experimentation to scale.

The session, titled “BUILT HERE: From Experimentation to Scale — Tanzania’s Fintech Journey, 2020–2026,” was held at Ruaha Hall, JNICC, bringing together leaders from Tanzania’s fintech ecosystem to reflect on the sector’s development and the opportunities shaping its future.

TAFINA Vice Chairperson Reuben Mwatosya participated in the panel alongside TAFINA members Sameer Hirji of Selcom, John Haule of Swahilies and Firas Ahmad of AzamPay.

The discussion highlighted the progress made by Tanzania’s fintech industry in driving innovation, advancing financial inclusion and contributing to the development of a stronger digital economy.

The participation of TAFINA representatives also underscored the importance of collaboration among industry players as Tanzania’s fintech ecosystem continues to mature and move from experimentation towards wider-scale adoption.

TAFINA said it remains committed to supporting collaboration, innovation and the continued growth of Tanzania’s fintech ecosystem.
