Djibouti is reaffirming its
commitment to responsible, inclusive and development-oriented artificial
intelligence (AI) as the country participates in the 4th UNESCO Global Forum on
the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Minister Delegate for
Digital Economy and Innovation Safia Mohamed Ali Gadileh is representing
Djibouti at the forum, which is being held from September 14 to 17, 2026. She
is taking part in ministerial discussions focused on AI governance, public
policy and ethics.
Djibouti’s participation
comes as the country advances its national agenda on artificial intelligence,
following the First National Forum on AI held in Djibouti and the
implementation of its National AI Strategy 2026–2030.
The minister is accompanied
by Soubaneh Moussa Djibril, Senior Advisor, and Mohamed Yacin Ahmed, Legal
Advisor, as part of the Djiboutian delegation participating in the global
discussions.
The UNESCO forum provides a
platform for governments and other stakeholders to examine the governance and
ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence as countries develop policies and
strategies to harness the technology.
