Djibouti is seeking to enhance
international cooperation in digital transformation, innovation and artificial
intelligence following a series of high-level engagements in Riyadh by Minister
Delegate in charge of Digital Economy and Innovation, Safia Mohamed Ali
Gadileh.
The minister’s engagements
took place on the sidelines of the 4th UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of
Artificial Intelligence, held in Riyadh from September 14 to 17, 2026.
During the visit, Gadileh
visited the Embassy of the Republic of Djibouti in Riyadh, where she was
received by Djibouti’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dya-eddine
Bamakhrama.
The meeting provided an
opportunity for discussions on challenges linked to digital transformation,
innovation and artificial intelligence, as well as prospects for strengthening
cooperation in these areas.
The Djiboutian delegation
also held meetings with several major digital technology organisations,
including the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), ICAIRE and the Saudi Data
and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA).
Discussions with the
organisations focused on areas including data governance, emerging technologies
and the development of a modern, inclusive, ethical and sustainable digital
ecosystem.
