Fellows under Rwanda’s
Digital Health Mentorship Program have visited Rutongo District Hospital and
Remera-Mbogo Health Centre to gain practical insight into how the e-Buzima
electronic medical records (EMR) platform supports healthcare service delivery.
The visits were organised as
part of the Rwanda Digital Health Mentorship Program (RDHMP), under KoraLink,
according to the Rwanda ICT Chamber.
During the visits, the
fellows observed how e-Buzima is used across different stages of the patient
journey, including registration, clinical consultation, laboratory services,
payment and pharmacy operations.
They also learned how
digital systems support reporting and continuity of care across health
facilities.
The Rwanda ICT Chamber said
the experience provided an important connection between the fellows’ mentorship
sessions and real-world healthcare environments.
The visits also allowed
participants to better understand the needs of healthcare workers and reflect
on how their own digital health projects could contribute to improving
healthcare services.
Through the practical
exposure, the programme aims to help fellows connect digital health concepts
with the operational realities of healthcare delivery.
