The Nigerian Communications
Commission (NCC) has joined the commemoration of Breast Cancer and Liver Cancer
Awareness Month, reaffirming its commitment to promoting awareness, early
detection, compassion and collective support for people affected by cancer.
The Executive Vice Chairman
and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Dr Aminu Maida, joined the NCC’s
management and staff in marking the awareness month, with participants wearing
touches of pink and emerald green to symbolise breast and liver cancer
awareness.
The Commission said the
initiative demonstrated its solidarity with everyone affected by cancer and
reinforced the importance of raising awareness and encouraging early detection.
Beyond the symbolic colours,
the NCC recognised the many forms of cancer and acknowledged the courage of
those battling the disease, while celebrating survivors and honouring those who
have lost their lives.
The Commission also
expressed support for individuals and families affected by cancer, emphasising
the importance of compassion and collective responsibility in addressing the
challenges associated with the disease.
Through the initiative, the
NCC reiterated its message that “awareness saves lives, early detection
matters, and no one should face cancer alone.”
