Kenya’s Technopolis
Development Authority has supported young innovators participating in the
Agri-food Innovation Challenge at Gusii Innovation Week 2026, where
participants developed artificial intelligence-driven technology solutions to
address challenges across the agrifood value chain.
The two-day intensive
hackathon was held at Kisii University, with officials from the Authority
providing mentorship to participants on October 26, 2026.
The challenge brought
together young innovators from the region to explore opportunities to apply
artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies to strengthen
agricultural productivity, improve market access and support climate-smart food
systems.
The Authority’s
participation underscored its commitment to supporting innovation, nurturing
local talent, strengthening partnerships and advancing Kenya’s National
Innovation Ecosystem by connecting emerging innovators with mentorship and
opportunities to develop practical solutions to real-world challenges.
