Nokia and Lenovo partner to transform data center networking for AI/ML workload

Nokia and Lenovo have announced a strategic partnership to create cutting-edge solutions that address the growing needs of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML, and other compute-intensive workloads. The collaboration brings together Lenovo's AI-ready ThinkSystem portfolio and Nokia's comprehensive Data Center network solution, setting the stage for enterprises, telecommunications companies, and cloud providers to benefit from highly efficient, secure, and scalable data center infrastructure.

The demand for AI and ML workloads has reached unprecedented levels, requiring data centers to handle complex computer, storage, and transit needs with precision and speed. The combined efforts of Nokia and Lenovo aim to address these challenges by offering a unified solution that seamlessly integrates data center fabric, IP routing, and Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) security with AI-ready servers and storage.

The core of this collaboration lies in the fusion of Nokia’s Event-Driven Automation (EDA) platform—which enables streamlined data center network automation—and Lenovo’s high-performance ThinkSystem AI-ready servers and storage. Together, these portfolios will help meet the needs of modern AI-driven workloads, which require immense processing power and reliable, high-speed interconnectivity between AI clusters within and across edge data centers.

As companies deploy AI models, data center inferencing becomes critical, which requires robust, secure, and energy-efficient networking infrastructure. Nokia and Lenovo are addressing these needs by providing a validated blueprint architecture that simplifies the automation of AI/ML workloads, offering enhanced observability, programmability, and extensibility to adapt to rapidly changing environments.
