Safaricom
Telecommunications Ethiopia PLC has made a generous donation to two high
schools in Wolaita Sodo. The donation, which includes 20 laptops, 4 Wi-Fi
routers, and six months of complimentary internet access, aims to enhance the
computer labs of these institutions and prepare students for the rapidly
evolving digital landscape.
This initiative
underscores Safaricom's commitment to leveraging technology to drive positive
change and empower communities. By providing students with access to digital
tools and internet connectivity, the company is helping to level the playing
field and ensure that young Ethiopians are equipped to thrive in an
increasingly digital world.
Sisay Zerihun,
Managing Executive for Regional External Affairs at Safaricom
Telecommunications Ethiopia, noted the importance of education and technology
in shaping the future of Ethiopia's youth. "We believe in the
transformative power of education and technology. We are confident that our
donation will provide students with the knowledge base they need to make
themselves ready for the digital world," he stated.
By investing in
education and digital infrastructure, the company is helping to build a more
inclusive and connected society, where young people have the skills and
resources they need to succeed.
As Safaricom
Telecommunications Ethiopia continues to expand its operations and services
across the country, its commitment to giving back to the community remains a
core part of its mission.
