Vodacom Mozambique has marked a transformative moment in the nation's digital journey with the grand opening of its state-of-the-art Data Centre, an infrastructure milestone personally inaugurated by Her Excellency the Prime Minister of Mozambique, Maria Benvinda Levy. The advanced facility positions Mozambique as a regional technology contender, offering enterprises and institutions world-class cloud services, robust cybersecurity solutions, and sophisticated data analytics capabilities developed specifically for local market needs.

The Prime Minister's presence at the launch ceremony underscored the government's endorsement of Vodacom's investment as a strategic national asset. "This facility embodies our shared vision for a technologically empowered Mozambique where innovation catalyzes inclusive economic progress," stated a Vodacom executive during the event. The Data Centre eliminates the need for Mozambican businesses to rely on foreign hosting solutions, providing secure, low-latency digital infrastructure that meets global standards while complying with local data sovereignty regulations.

Designed to support Mozambique's growing digital economy, the facility offers customized solutions ranging from enterprise cloud migration for major corporations to scalable platforms for tech startups. Its tier-III equivalent infrastructure guarantees 99.982% uptime, with advanced environmental controls and redundant power systems ensuring uninterrupted service – critical requirements for financial institutions, healthcare providers, and government agencies modernizing their operations.

Vodacom Mozambique CEO, Simon Karikari noted the project's collaborative foundations, acknowledging government regulators, commercial partners, and shareholders for enabling the $40 million investment. The Data Centre launch coincides with expanded fiber optic deployments across Maputo and planned connectivity upgrades to secondary cities, creating an integrated digital ecosystem.
