The Governor of
the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Johnson Asiama has presided over his first Heads of
Banks meeting since assuming leadership of the central bank. The gathering,
held at the Bank of Ghana headquarters in Accra, brought together chief
executives and senior representatives from regulated banks across the country,
alongside central bank officials including First Deputy Governor Dr. Zakari
Mumuni.

The meeting
marked an important opportunity for Ghana's banking sector leadership to engage
with the new central bank management team. Dr. Asiama opened discussions by
reviewing key outcomes from the 123rd Monetary Policy Committee meeting, which
concluded on March 28 with a press briefing on monetary policy decisions and
macroeconomic developments.
While specific
details of today's discussions remain confidential, the dialogue is understood
to have covered critical banking sector issues including financial stability,
regulatory compliance, and strategies to support Ghana's ongoing economic
recovery. The gathering represents the first in what will become regular
consultations between the central bank and financial institutions under Dr.
Asiama's leadership.

The Bank of
Ghana continues to play a pivotal role in steering Ghana's financial system
through both domestic and global economic challenges.
