MTN Nigeria customers will now have the opportunity to own
any of the latest spanking brand new smartphones without worrying about instant
payment, thanks to MTN Nigeria's ingenuity in forming alliances with
partners including INTELLIGRA, SLOT, Stanbic, VFD, PT MFB, and Credit Direct.
The new partnership struck this month will enable MTN
customers in Africa’s most populous nation, Nigeria, to purchase a smartphone
with flexible payment options.
During a recent press conference to unveil the partnership
and also to give key stakeholders and media representatives the chance to
experience first-hand how the new MTN Device Financing works, the Chief
Marketing Officer of MTN Nigeria, Adia Sowho said the partnership with INTELLIGRA will not only drive financial
inclusion, the digital goals of financing devices and making them accessible to
the average man but would also grant
customers access to the internet, entertainment, and education and allow users
to communicate easily.
The Chief Executive Officer of INTELLIGRA Solutions, Tayo
Ogundipe, in his remarks, also noted that the partnership with MTN Nigeria in
collaboration notable financing institutions like Stanbic, VFD MFB, Personal
Trust MFB, and Credit Direct Ltd would help find solutions to smartphone
penetration Africans through increased digital and financial inclusion.
“These collaborations offer MTN users across the country a
unique, convenient, simple, and flexible variant of BNPL with their choice of
premium, quality brands including Samsung, Nokia, Tecno, Infinix, and iTel
models,” he said.
As part of the new MTN Device Financing scheme, customers
would have to subscribe to any MTN bundle plan for as low as N7,000 a
month and walk away with a smartphone of their choice with a payment plan
ranging between 6 to 12 months.
