MTN Group’s President and Chief Executive
Officer, Ralph Mupita, has reiterated MTN's"s commitment to driving shared value
with different stakeholders on the African continent.
Mr. Mupita made this known when he met with the
pioneer Fellows of the MTN Media Innovation Program on the final day of their
six-month intensive training at the School of Media and Communication,
Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, Nigeria, and study trip to the University of the
Witwatersrand.
Present at the meeting also was the MTN
Nigeria Chief Executive Officer, Karl Olutokun Toriola, and other key management
staff of MTN Nigeria.
The
group’s President and CEO, during his engagement with the MTN MIP-1 Fellows, spoke
about technology penetration across Africa, with a focus on the recent 5G
launch in Nigeria and how the different sectors of the economy in Nigeria and
Africa will maximize 5G technology for the advancement of our nation-states and
the continent at large.
“MTN remains committed to strengthening Africans
in various fields, and MIP is the beginning of these efforts by strengthening the
media,” he said.
