Leading Dubai’s technology event, Gitex will be
making its first appearance on the African continent in Marrakech, Morocco with
the Gitex Africa exhibition and conference in May 2023.
Launched in partnership with the Digital
Development Agency (ADD), a strategic public entity leading the Moroccan
government’s digital transformation agenda, Gitex Africa will be organized by
Kaoun International, the overseas event organizing company of DWTC.
Next year’s event according to organizers is
expected to attract over 300 African Startups, 500 exhibitors, 20,000 trade
buyers, and 125 government delegations.
Commenting about the upcoming event, the Executive
Vice President of Event Management at Dubai World Trade Centre, Gitex
Global’s organizers, Trixie LohMirmand said “ If you look at all these factors
here, we show that Africa is going to go through this rapid growth in all sorts
of tech, whether you’re talking about the classic tech, cloud solutions, the
ERP or massive emerging new-generation tech in AI, in data, in edge computing
and quantum computing,”
The General Director of the Digital Development
Agency, Mohammed Drissi Melyani also noted that Morocco is playing a crucial
role to assist and support the
development of Africa under the leadership of King Mohamed VI and to link it
economically to the rest of the world.
“We are deeply engaged to contribute to the
success of this first edition of Gitex Africa and will work very hard to make
it exceptional for us all,” he said.
Gitex Africa 2023, aims to build on curating
powerful innovation emerging from the world’s next most sought-after market
across the fast-growing sector of fintech, e-commerce, cloud, IoT, AI, Telecom,
and Security.
