Science, Technology and Innovation Secretariat Uganda, working under the Office of the President, has launched an Investor Readiness Bootcamp aimed at strengthening Uganda’s startup ecosystem and improving access to global investment opportunities.

The two-day programme is being implemented in collaboration with Flat6Labs and the National ICT Innovation Hub Uganda, bringing together founders from across the country for intensive training focused on investment readiness and business scaling.

Organisers said Uganda’s startup ecosystem is expanding rapidly, but emphasised that bridging the gap between innovation and global investment standards is critical to enabling sustainable growth and international competitiveness.

The bootcamp is designed to support entrepreneurs in key areas including fundraising, venture capital engagement, business model refinement, valuation techniques and development of effective pitch presentations. Participants are also being exposed to investor expectations and practical insights into securing funding.

Guest speakers include Faten Aissi and Asma Bouzaidi, who are sharing expertise on investment strategies and startup growth pathways.

Officials said the programme represents a strategic effort to position Ugandan startups for global competitiveness by equipping founders with the skills required to attract and manage investment.

The initiative is expected to contribute to strengthening Uganda’s innovation ecosystem and enhancing the ability of local startups to scale beyond domestic markets.
