Egypt’s
Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Raafat Hendy, has held
discussions with senior Huawei executives on strengthening cooperation in
telecommunications, digital capacity building, cloud computing, and advanced
technologies.
The
meeting brought together Yang Chaobin, Executive Director and CEO of Huawei’s
ICT Business Group, and Benjamin Hou, CEO of Huawei Egypt, alongside senior
officials from Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology
(MCIT).
During
the discussions, Hendy highlighted the strategic cooperation between the
ministry and Huawei across several areas of the ICT sector, emphasizing the
growing importance of digital technologies in supporting multiple industries
and driving digital transformation.

The
minister also pointed to ongoing collaboration in digital capacity building,
including training and skills development initiatives aimed at strengthening
Egypt’s digital workforce.
For
his part, Yang Chaobin reaffirmed Huawei’s commitment to introducing advanced
technologies into the Egyptian market and expressed interest in expanding
cooperation with the ministry through new joint initiatives.
The
meeting explored opportunities for collaboration in the development of digital
solutions and support for Egypt’s transition toward cloud computing
technologies.
Officials
also reviewed existing partnerships between Huawei and Egypt’s Information
Technology Institute (ITI) and National Telecommunication Institute (NTI),
which focus on digital skills training across a range of technology fields.
