AFRALTI has completed the
first phase of a Cybersecurity Certification Training Programme aimed at
strengthening cybersecurity skills and resilience within government
institutions.
The programme, implemented
by AFRALTI and supported by World Bank Group under the SCALED-UP project, was
delivered between March 29 and May 10, 2026 across Mogadishu, Nairobi and
online platforms.

According to AFRALTI, the
initiative trained ICT professionals drawn from 21 government agencies,
equipping them with skills aligned to six international cybersecurity
certifications.
A total of 15 government
officials successfully completed the programme and received certificates in
recognition of their achievement.

The training focused on
building technical capacity in cybersecurity as governments continue to
strengthen the protection of critical digital infrastructure and enhance
national cyber resilience.
AFRALTI said the initiative
reflects a broader commitment to supporting governments in developing secure
and resilient digital ecosystems through capacity building and advanced
cybersecurity training programmes.
