MTN Benin has collaborated with Huawei to host the Future Tech Summit 2026 in Cotonou, bringing
together public and private sector stakeholders to explore the role of smart
technologies in accelerating Benin’s digital transformation.
The summit was organised
under the theme of training, connecting, and projecting the country’s digital
ecosystem into the future, with discussions centred on how emerging
technologies can transform operations and unlock new economic growth
opportunities.
Speaking at the opening
session on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Benin, Uche Ofodile,
Chief Financial Officer Yao Kouadio said the summit reflects MTN’s commitment
to building a structured framework where technological innovation is aligned
with Benin’s broader economic priorities to drive sustainable growth.

He noted that collaboration
between industry stakeholders, government actors, and technology partners such
as Huawei is essential to strengthening the country’s digital ecosystem and
improving competitiveness.
Discussions at the summit
focused on key pillars of digital development, including infrastructure
expansion, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data systems, and
business-to-business innovation, with an emphasis on performance-driven and
impact-oriented solutions.

Two major panel sessions
were held during the event, examining digital transformation as a driver of
economic growth and exploring how artificial intelligence can be integrated
into enterprise operations to create value and improve efficiency.
Organisers said the Future
Tech Summit 2026 is intended to serve as a platform for sustained dialogue and
collaboration aimed at supporting Benin’s long-term digital transformation and
strengthening its position in the regional digital economy.
