Luxembourg
has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening multilateral dialogue on the
governance of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence,
satellite systems, and broader digital innovations shaping the global future.
This
was highlighted following a meeting between Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister
and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Xavier Bettel, and the
Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union, Doreen
Bogdan-Martin.
The
engagement focused on international cooperation in addressing the governance
challenges and opportunities arising from rapidly evolving technologies that
are increasingly central to economic development, security, and global
connectivity.
According
to Luxembourg’s foreign ministry, the country continues to actively support
multilateral frameworks that promote inclusive and rules-based dialogue on
digital transformation and technology governance.
Key
areas of focus include artificial intelligence regulation, satellite
communications, and other advanced digital systems that are reshaping global
infrastructure and public policy considerations.
The
discussions underscore growing international efforts to strengthen coordination
among governments and multilateral institutions in ensuring that emerging
technologies are developed and deployed in ways that are safe, inclusive, and
aligned with shared global principles.
