MTN
South Sudan, in partnership with Educare Organization South Sudan and the
Government of South Sudan, has launched the Junub Academy National E-Learning
Platform, a new digital initiative aimed at expanding access to quality
education and digital learning resources across the country.
The
platform is designed to provide learners, teachers and communities with access
to educational content, digital literacy materials, teacher development
resources and skills training opportunities, supporting efforts to strengthen
education through technology.
As
part of the initiative, MTN South Sudan has zero-rated the Junub Academy
platform on its mobile network, allowing users to access its educational
resources without incurring internet data charges. The move is intended to
remove connectivity barriers and make online learning more accessible,
particularly for students and educators in underserved communities.
The
company said the platform reflects its commitment to using digital technology
to improve access to education and promote digital inclusion throughout South
Sudan.
The
launch comes as governments and private sector stakeholders across Africa
continue to invest in digital education platforms to address learning gaps,
enhance digital skills and prepare young people for an increasingly
technology-driven economy.
MTN
South Sudan said the partnership with Educare Organization South Sudan and the
Government of South Sudan demonstrates the role of public-private collaboration
in expanding educational opportunities and supporting the country's vision of
providing quality education for all.
