Vodacom
Tanzania has highlighted its commitment to strengthening digital connectivity
across Africa during the opening of the 50th anniversary edition of the Dar es
Salaam International Trade Fair 2026 at Saba Saba Grounds.
The
company hosted senior regional leaders, including President Samia Suluhu Hassan
and President Daniel Chapo, who visited the Vodacom exhibition booth during the
official opening ceremony.
According
to the company, the engagement underscored the importance of regional
partnerships in advancing Africa’s digital transformation agenda and expanding
access to reliable telecommunications infrastructure across borders.
The
visit was hosted by Vodacom Tanzania CEO Philip Besiimire, who emphasized the
role of cross-border connectivity in enabling economic integration, business
growth and inclusive digital development across the continent.
Vodacom
stated that its operations form part of a broader continental network spanning
multiple African markets, with a strategic focus on connecting people,
businesses and economies from Cape to Cairo.
The
company reaffirmed its commitment to investing in digital infrastructure and
services that support inclusive growth, innovation and expanded access to
digital opportunities for individuals and enterprises across Africa.
