The Technopolis Development Authority has hosted a delegation of Korean climate-tech startups participating in the Korea-Africa Foundation (KAF) 2026 Global Accelerating Program, as part of their visit to Kenya.

The engagement focused on opportunities for collaboration in smart city infrastructure, climate innovation and technology testbeds, with the delegation also introduced to Konza Technopolis as a platform for developing, testing and adopting innovative technologies.

The Korean delegation comprised startups operating across several climate-tech areas, including clean energy and energy storage, solar panel recycling, agri-tech, water treatment, battery management systems, and climate data and early-warning technologies.

The discussions highlighted opportunities to strengthen cooperation between Kenya and South Korea in the development and deployment of climate-smart technologies.

The visit also provided a platform for Korean technology companies to connect with Kenya’s emerging innovation ecosystem and explore potential opportunities to test and scale solutions within the country.

The Technopolis Development Authority said the engagement reinforced the potential for partnerships focused on sustainable urban development, climate resilience and technology-driven innovation.
