Intellian Technologies and
Network Innovations have entered into a strategic partnership to jointly
develop and distribute next-generation tactical ground Wideband Global SATCOM
(WGS) flyaway terminals for military and government customers.
Announced in Paris, France,
on September 15, 2026, the multi-year agreement is aimed at providing greater
flexibility and resilience through a terminal platform capable of supporting
simultaneous Mil-X, Mil Ka-band and commercial Ka and Ku-band connectivity.
The new flyaway terminal is
being designed with electronic switching across an extended range of Ka-band
frequencies and is intended primarily for operations using the WGS
constellation. The system is being engineered to provide secure, resilient and
high-capacity communications for expeditionary forces and other
mission-critical deployments.
The deployable terminals are
designed to become operational in as little as 30 minutes and will support
multi-band and multi-orbit operations across LEO, MEO, GEO and HEO satellite
constellations.
The platform is also being
designed for interoperability with existing and emerging satellite networks,
including sovereign non-geostationary orbit (NGSO) constellations, reflecting
the growing demand for flexible connectivity across multiple satellite architectures.
Network Innovations brings
more than 20 years of operational experience supporting military and WGS
customers in demanding mission environments to the development of the new
platform.
The terminals are being
engineered to achieve full WGS certification and comply with key MIL-SPEC
requirements. Intellian also plans to develop non-WGS commercial variants,
extending the technology to government, enterprise and critical communications
applications.

tactical ground WGS flyaway platform represents an important expansion of
Intellian’s military and government portfolio,” said Eric Sung, CEO of
Intellian. He said the combination of simultaneous X-band and Military Ka-band
capability, wider commercial Ka frequencies and multi-orbit connectivity is
intended to address increasingly complex communications requirements for modern
defence operations.

Innovations, said the agreement represents a significant expansion of the
companies’ existing strategic relationship. He said combining Intellian’s
terminal technology with Network Innovations’ experience serving military and
government customers could accelerate the introduction of the new capability.
The partnership brings
together Intellian’s expertise in satellite terminal technology, multi-orbit
connectivity, RF systems and ruggedised communications platforms with Network
Innovations’ military and government market presence, systems integration capabilities
and global distribution network.
The companies said the
next-generation solution is designed to support WGS satellites alongside
existing and emerging LEO and MEO satellite networks, providing customers with
additional connectivity options for mission-critical operations.
