Ethiopian financial
technology company Arifpay has partnered with Fasteco to provide digital
payment services for electric scooters operating in Addis Ababa, supporting the
city’s efforts to expand cleaner and more connected urban mobility.
The partnership will enable
riders to make secure and seamless digital payments for Fasteco’s electric
scooters, which are part of the emerging electric vehicle mobility ecosystem in
the Ethiopian capital.
Arifpay said the
collaboration is aimed at making electric vehicle mobility more accessible,
convenient and affordable as Ethiopia embraces cleaner and more sustainable
transportation solutions.
Through its payment
infrastructure, Arifpay will support a frictionless payment experience for
riders using Fasteco’s electric scooters, allowing digital transactions to
become part of the mobility service.
The partnership comes as
Addis Ababa continues to embrace modern transportation solutions and reflects
the growing intersection between fintech and urban mobility.
Arifpay said its
collaboration with Fasteco is intended to support the city’s modernization
efforts while contributing to a greener transportation ecosystem.
The company said the
partnership goes beyond enabling payments, with the two companies seeking to
contribute to the development of a smarter and more connected Addis Ababa
through digital financial services and electric mobility.
