Irembo CEO Israel Bimpe has
called for public institutions to put citizen value at the centre of public
sector transformation as technology continues to reshape how government
services are designed and delivered.
Bimpe made the remarks
during a keynote at the ALU Public Sector Forum 2026, where he spoke on “Public
Sector Product Leadership: Creating Lasting Value for Citizens in the Fourth
Industrial Revolution.”
His presentation focused on
how public institutions can rethink the design and delivery of services in
response to a rapidly changing technological environment.
The discussion centred on
placing citizens at the heart of public sector transformation by understanding
their needs, reducing friction and building trust in the services they use.
Bimpe also highlighted the
importance of designing public services for inclusion and rethinking existing
processes rather than simply digitising them.
As technology expands what
is possible in public service delivery, the focus, he noted, should remain on
using technology to create services that are more responsive, accessible and
meaningful to the people they serve.
The discussion at the forum
highlighted the need for public institutions to look beyond technology adoption
and focus on how digital transformation can create lasting value and improve
citizens’ experiences with public services.
