The Technopolis Development
Authority (TDA), in partnership with Cube Innovation Hub, is advancing digital
skills development among young people in Kenya’s North Rift region through a
new training initiative focused on robotics, coding and Artificial Intelligence
(AI).
The initiative is designed
to equip young people with practical, industry-relevant competencies in
emerging technologies, opening pathways to innovation, entrepreneurship,
employment and income generation through digitally monetisable skills.
The programme was
highlighted during CIRIS TECH 2026, held at The Eldoret National Polytechnic.
Dr. Esther Thaara Mworia, the Chief Guest, was represented by Mr. Tom Otieno
Olango. The event also featured the participation of Ms. Elizabeth Mbege,
Director in charge of Skills at the Ministry of Information, Communications and
the Digital Economy.
The training commences at
The Eldoret National Polytechnic, with plans to expand across the North Rift
region to bring emerging technology skills closer to more young people.
Through the initiative,
participants will gain hands-on experience in robotics, coding and AI, with the
aim of strengthening their ability to participate in the digital economy and
access opportunities for online work and income generation.
