The Ethiopian IT Park
Corporation and Awash Capital S.C. have signed a strategic cooperation
framework aimed at improving access to finance and investment opportunities for
Ethiopia’s technology sector.
The agreement was signed by
the Ethiopian IT Park Corporation, led by its Chief Executive Officer, Ato
Belete Esubalew, and Awash Capital S.C., led by its Chief Executive Officer,
Dr. Andualem Hailu.
The framework focuses on
strengthening the investment readiness of startups and small and medium-sized
enterprises (SMEs), exploring new financing channels, providing capital-market
training, and supporting investment in IT Park infrastructure and service
expansion.
Through the collaboration,
the two institutions aim to connect Ethiopia’s growing technology ecosystem
with capital-market expertise, helping businesses explore sustainable financing
opportunities and supporting the development of the country’s digital economy.
The partnership is also
expected to support technology businesses in preparing to attract investment
and accessing financing opportunities to support their growth and expansion.
The Ethiopian IT Park
Corporation is working towards its strategic goal of becoming Africa’s leading
AI-driven technology hub by 2030.
