Egypt’s National
Telecommunications Institute (NTI) has won the “Best Government Partner” and
“Best Employer” awards at the seventh edition of the Huawei Career Forum, held
at the Grand Egyptian Museum on October 26 and online on October 27.
The institute participated
as an academic partner in the forum, which was organised under the auspices of
the Ministries of Communications and Information Technology, Labour, and Higher
Education and Scientific Research, with 120 companies and employers taking
part.
The event aimed to
strengthen the link between Egyptian competencies and labour market needs by
turning skills and experience gained through training and qualification into
actual job opportunities. It also provided opportunities for university
graduates, job seekers, recruiters and companies to connect.
The forum featured success
stories from Huawei Academy graduates, scholarship and training opportunities
offered by Huawei partners, professional development sessions and interactions
with experts and specialists. Its online platform will allow job seekers to
apply for available positions for one month.
NTI’s participation builds
on its ongoing cooperation with Huawei to integrate specialised training,
practical application and international professional certifications.
Through the partnership,
2,000 trainers have been trained and accredited, contributing to teaching
activities in more than 190 Huawei Academies in Egyptian universities. The
cooperation has also supported the training of about 125 people, according to
the Ministry.
More than 7,000 trainees
have graduated from the Egyptian Talent Academy programme, implemented jointly
by NTI and Huawei, in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity,
big data and 5G networks.
The partnership has also
included the establishment of five fibre-optic laboratories within a
specialised academy to train technicians and engineers working on national
projects.
The Huawei Career Forum is
organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information
Technology as part of efforts to strengthen partnerships with major global
technology companies and align specialised training and qualification programmes
with labour market requirements, creating wider employment opportunities for
young people in the ICT sector.
