The Managing
Director of the Nigerian Communications Satellite Ltd (NIGCOMSAT), Nkechi
Egerton-Idehen, has revealed that NIGCOMSAT is now better equipped than ever to
provide the nation with reliable internet services that promise to stimulate
innovation and drive advancements in the tech industry.
According to a recent statement released by the Punch following the
Managing Director’s two-day strategic visit to the Northern state of Gombe,
NIGCOMSAT is “determined to meet the mandate set by the Federal Ministry
of Communication and Digital Economy to provide universal, ubiquitous, and
cost-effective access to communications infrastructure throughout the country,
to strive for a Nigeria where the utilisation of ICT impacts all spheres from
Agriculture, Education, Health, Enterprise, etc.”
Mrs. Egerton-Idehen
also expressed her outfit’s unwavering dedication to restructuring and
reevaluating its priorities and highlighted NIGCOMSAT's readiness to
collaborate with relevant stakeholders in Gombe state, aiming to offer
broadband access that bridges the digital divide.
“We are here to ensure our clients, potential clients, stakeholders, and
partners know that we aim to transform the perception of NIGCOMSAT, not just
through words, but through tangible actions and results. We are determined to
make NIGCOMSAT a beacon of national pride with an efficient workforce and
satisfied clients. In today’s world, the phrase ‘the world is a global village’
rings truer than ever. Our foremost duty as a communications satellite operator
is to enhance communication capabilities and infrastructure for the betterment
of our people.” Mrs Egerton-Idehen stated.
We aim to become the
preferred choice and a leading partner in the industry, she explained, adding
that technology is the engine of every economy.
