As part of efforts to enhance internet connectivity in Liberia, leading telecom giant Telecel has joined forces with West African Internet Service Provider, CSquared. The collaboration aims to provide robust internet services to Nimba County and eventually extend connectivity across the entire African continent.

The Chief Executive Officer of CSquared Africa, Lanre Kouade, expressed ambitious plans to connect not only Liberia but the whole of Africa. Mr. Kouade outlined the company's vision to establish connectivity from Gambia to Nigeria, bypassing the need to traverse oceans. With approximately 350 kilometers already covered, including Liberia, CSquared intends to leverage West Africa Power Pool facilities to expand connectivity comprehensively.

"We are going to connect Cote d’Ivoire and bring additional capacity to Liberia," Kouade stated, emphasizing the positive impact of internet connectivity on people's lives. He highlighted the company's presence in various Liberian counties, including Grand Bassa, Bomi, Grand Cape Mount, Montserrado, Margibi, Bong, and Nimba.

The launch of internet services in Ganta saw CSquared and Telecel Liberia providing free Wi-Fi services to marketeers in the Ganta General Market and along Main Street. The Wi-Fi, branded as 'Ganta City Wi-Fi,' is currently undergoing testing and has been lauded for its speed.

During the launch event, Kouade assured the public of CSquared's commitment to extending internet access to every part of Liberia. He commended the Liberian team for their efforts in making this connectivity expansion possible. The event also marked the dedication of CSquared's Ganta office, serving as their second office in Liberia.

Guggie A. N. Tamba, Operations Manager for Telecel Liberia, highlighted the company's provision of internet services to homes, offices, schools, businesses, and more. Telecel, established by a French investor, operates in several African countries, including Ghana, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Central African Republic, and now Liberia.

Tamba assured residents of Ganta that by July 24, 2024, Telecel's internet connection would reach as far as Loguatuo and Yekepa.
