LinkedIn, the world's leading professional networking platform, has taken a step towards enhancing Kenya's human talent pool and driving economic growth by partnering with Kenya's ICT sector.

During a recent meeting in Nairobi with the Principal Secretary of the State Department of ICT and Digital Economy, Eng. John Kipchumba Tanui, LinkedIn's Global Communications Manager, Mr. Seamus Clancy, and the Enterprise Account Director for the Public Sector, Mr. Martin Vermolen, engaged in discussions regarding utilizing LinkedIn's Talent Solution Framework to nurture the country's human talent, knowledge, and economy.

Eng. Tanui posted on his official social media LinkedIn platform that the discussions centered on strategies to leverage the platform's insights for the country's advantage. The data from LinkedIn can be a valuable resource for understanding employment dynamics, identifying skill gaps, and connecting job seekers with suitable opportunities.

The partnership aims to address the evolving employment landscape in Kenya since job-seeking activity on LinkedIn has increased by 10% year on year in the country. Therefore, there is a growing need to tap into this platform's extensive data to better understand the demands of the job market.

The discussions also focused on how LinkedIn can play a pivotal role in skill development. By utilizing the platform's data, Kenya can identify emerging skills in demand and tailor training programs to bridge the existing gaps. This proactive approach aligns with the broader goal of empowering the workforce with the skills needed for the jobs of the future.
