Sitoyo
Lopokoiyit, the Chief Executive Officer of M-Pesa Africa, has been reappointed
by President William Ruto as the chairperson of the Board of Directors of the
Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
As per
the Kenya Gazette notice issued on Friday, Dr. Ruto has appointed Mr. Sitoyo to
serve an additional three-year term, effective from March 29, 2024.
The
notice reads, “In exercise of the powers
conferred by Paragraph 2 (a) of the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Board
Order, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and
Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces appoint Sitoyo Lopokoiyit to be the
Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Moi Teaching and Referral
Hospital, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 29th of March
2024.”
Previously,
Mr. Sitoyo was appointed to the Board by former President Uhuru Kenyatta on
March 29, 2021. Mr. Sitoyo is also the current Chief Financial Services Officer
of Safaricom PLC.
