Smart Africa
CEO, Lacina Koné has met with South Sudan's ICT leadership to solidify the
nation's participation in continental digital initiatives. The high-level
discussions with Minister Michael Makuei Lueth, Deputy Minister David Yau Yau,
and National Communications Authority Director General Gieth Kon Mathiang Kun
focused on strengthening South Sudan's role in the Smart Africa Alliance.

During the
meeting, South Sudan became the 17th signatory to the Smart Africa Trust
Alliance (SATA) Declaration, marking a significant commitment to developing
trusted digital services across Africa. Minister Lueth formalized this
partnership alongside CEO Koné, demonstrating the country's dedication to
regional digital integration.
The talks also
covered South Sudan's continued engagement as a co-founder of the Smart Africa
Alliance and its participation in the upcoming Transform Africa Summit. This
collaboration represents a strategic step in South Sudan's digital development
journey, aligning its national ICT agenda with continental priorities for
secure and interoperable digital ecosystems.

Smart Africa's
engagement with South Sudan underscores the alliance's mission to accelerate
sustainable socio-economic development through ICT across the continent, with
trust and security as foundational pillars for digital transformation.
