Congo (RDC) has launched a new session of its Code Like a Girl programme at
Tobongisa High School, aimed at empowering young girls with digital and coding
skills.
The
four-day training session, held from March 11 to March 14, forms part of
activities marking the promotion of women’s rights in March. The programme
introduces participants to coding, digital technologies, and innovation,
providing foundational knowledge that can help them pursue careers in the
technology sector.
Through
practical training and interactive learning sessions, the initiative seeks to
equip young girls with the skills needed to participate in the growing digital
economy while encouraging greater female representation in science and
technology fields.
Vodacom
Congo said the programme reflects its commitment to strengthening digital
education and creating opportunities for girls to explore careers in
technology. By promoting coding and digital literacy among young students, the
company aims to support the development of a new generation of female
innovators in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
