Savannah Informatics has hosted a delegation from
Egyptian digital health company Yodawy for
a knowledge-sharing session focused on advancing healthcare innovation and
collaboration across markets.
The Yodawy delegation was led by co-founders Karim Khashaba and Yasser AbdelGawad, whose company has established
itself as Egypt’s first provider of paperless claims and operates a chronic
care programme spanning 38 cities. The platform collaborates with more than 35
payers and over 800 corporates, processing approximately 5,000 e-prescriptions
daily across hospitals, clinics, and on-site doctors.
The session, moderated by Benard Odote and Aggrey
Ogutu, explored how digital platforms are transforming pharmacy services
by streamlining prescription access, fulfilment, and insurance workflows for
both acute and chronic care patients.
Savannah Informatics representatives,
including Dr John Muthee, Dr Justus Kilonzi, Joy Kiguta, and Jason
Wanjohi, shared insights from their experience in building digital
health ecosystems that improve data visibility, care coordination, and
decision-making across healthcare systems.
The
engagement highlighted the importance of cross-market collaboration in driving
innovation, with participants emphasizing that while technology enables
transformation, shared learning and partnerships remain critical to achieving
patient-centered healthcare at scale.
