Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, William Kabogo, has held discussions with Secretary to the Cabinet Mercy Wanjau on the country’s digital transformation agenda and efforts to strengthen the digital economy.

Wanjau paid a courtesy call to the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, where she met with Kabogo for discussions on Kenya’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The talks covered digital transformation, innovation, connectivity, digital public infrastructure and emerging technologies, as well as the policy environment required to support the growth of Kenya’s digital economy.

The discussions also focused on creating a level playing field for businesses and other players operating in the digital sector, with emphasis on promoting innovation and investment while ensuring fair competition.

Kabogo said the government remains committed to strengthening digital infrastructure and expanding access to digital services to ensure that more Kenyans can participate in and benefit from the digital economy.

The ministry is also prioritising digital inclusion, innovation and entrepreneurship, alongside the development of policies aimed at supporting fair competition and protecting the interests of citizens.
