Egypt and UNDP boost collaboration on scientific research and innovation

Egypt’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Abdelaziz Konsowa, has met with UNDP Resident Representative Chitose Noguchi to discuss enhancing cooperation in scientific research and innovation.

The meeting included Dr. Salma Yousry, Assistant Minister for International Cooperation, and Abeer Shakweer, UNDP Egypt’s Assistant Resident Representative and Inclusive Growth & Innovation Team Leader.

Discussions focused on integrating research institutions with industry, expanding technology parks, supporting business incubators and startups, and providing technical assistance and capacity building. Both parties emphasized the importance of transferring international expertise, strengthening the knowledge economy, and empowering young researchers.

The meeting also explored partnerships with international universities, joint research initiatives, and technology transfer programs aligned with Egypt Vision 2030, aiming to link scientific research directly to national development priorities.
