InnoTech Ideation Hub, in
partnership with the Borno State Information and Communication Technology
Development Agency (BICTDA), has delivered an Artificial Intelligence training
workshop for academic and non-academic staff of Kashim Ibrahim University (KIU)
in Maiduguri.
The workshop, themed “AI in
Higher Education,” was organized to strengthen the effective and responsible
use of artificial intelligence tools and digital technologies in academic
environments. It focused on improving research productivity, enhancing teaching
and learning processes, and increasing administrative efficiency within the
university system.

The Vice Chancellor of
Kashim Ibrahim University, represented by Prof. Shu’aibu Garba Ngulde,
encouraged participants to fully engage with the training and apply the
knowledge gained to support their academic and professional responsibilities.
Speaking at the event, the
Executive Secretary of BICTDA, represented by Prof. Mustapha Tijjani,
underscored the growing relevance of artificial intelligence globally and
reaffirmed the commitment of the Borno State Government to promoting
responsible AI adoption across the state. He also highlighted ongoing efforts
to develop a state-level AI strategy and governance framework.

BICTDA commended InnoTech
Ideation Hub for serving as technical partner for the workshop and called for
continued collaboration on initiatives aimed at advancing digital
transformation, innovation, and capacity building within the state’s education
sector.
