Cameroon’s Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ART) and MTN Cameroon have begun high-level technical discussions aimed at improving the quality of telecommunications services and enhancing customer experience for users across the country.

The three-day engagement, taking place from 21 to 23 July 2026 at the Golden-K Hotel in Kribi, is focused on strengthening Quality of Service (QoS) and Quality of Experience (QoE) across MTN Cameroon’s network.

The discussions are being led by ART Director General Professor Philémon Zoo Zame and MTN Cameroon Chief Executive Officer Wanda Matandela, with participation from ART Board Chairperson Professor Justine Diffo née Tchunkam and members of the regulatory body’s leadership.

During the meeting, MTN Cameroon presented an overview of investments made during the 2025 financial year, as well as additional investments committed in the first half of 2026 and planned initiatives for the remainder of the year.

The operator outlined measures aimed at expanding network coverage, improving service reliability and strengthening the overall experience of subscribers.

ART and MTN Cameroon are also reviewing mechanisms for monitoring and tracking the implementation of technical improvements to ensure that planned interventions deliver measurable and sustainable benefits for users.

The engagement forms part of ART’s ongoing efforts to promote stronger dialogue with telecommunications operators and address concerns around service quality. The regulator has maintained a structured consultation process with sector players for nearly four years as part of government-backed efforts to improve telecommunications performance.

ART said the objective is to move beyond short-term solutions and support the implementation of long-term measures that respond to the growing expectations of Cameroonian consumers.

Following the discussions, the regulator will continue monitoring the implementation of agreed actions and commitments as part of its mandate to protect users and promote a reliable and efficient telecommunications sector.
