Morocco’s Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform has held discussions with the World Bank to review the implementation of the Kingdom’s Digital Transformation Acceleration Programme, a five-year initiative backed by $250 million in funding.

The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, brought together Minister Amal El Fallah-Seghrouchni and Ousmane Dione, Vice-President of the World Bank Group for the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan and Pakistan (MENAAP) region.

The World Bank delegation included Moustapha Ndiaye, World Bank Country Director for the Maghreb and Malta; Michel Rogy, Director of Strategy and Operations for the MENAAP region; Boutheina Guermazi, Director of the Digital and Artificial Intelligence Practice for Africa and the Near and Middle East; and Paola Rosas Ridolfi, Manager responsible for operations for the Maghreb and Malta.

Discussions focused on the progress and operational rollout of the Digital Transformation Acceleration Programme, which was approved and signed in June 2026 to support Morocco’s digital development priorities.

The programme is expected to contribute to the implementation of key national initiatives under Maroc Digital 2030 and the AI Made in Morocco strategy, with a focus on digital public services, sovereign digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, innovation, startups, very small and medium-sized enterprises (VSMEs), and digital skills development.

Minister El Fallah-Seghrouchni reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to working closely with the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the World Bank to ensure the programme begins implementation according to schedule.

She said the partnership reflects a shared vision to accelerate Morocco’s digital transformation, modernise public administration, strengthen the competitiveness of the national economy and create new employment opportunities through technology and innovation.
