Margins Group has reaffirmed
its commitment to supporting Ghana’s efforts to build a secure and trusted
national identity ecosystem following the launch of the National Identity
Register (Amendment) Regulations, 2026 (L.I. 2523).
The new regulations,
introduced by the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, are
aimed at strengthening identity management processes, combating identity fraud,
enhancing personal data protection and improving confidence in identity
verification systems across the country.
Margins ID Group and its
subsidiary, Identity Management Systems II (IMS II), participated in the
engagement, highlighting their role in supporting the development of secure
technology-driven identity solutions in Ghana.
As the technical partner to
the National Identification Authority (NIA) for the Ghana Card project, Margins
Group said it remains committed to providing solutions that protect the
integrity of the national identity system while enabling efficient and trusted
access to services for citizens.
The company noted that
stronger identity safeguards are essential for building public trust, improving
service delivery and supporting Ghana’s broader digital transformation agenda.
The launch of the amended
regulations forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance Ghana’s identity
management framework and create a more secure environment for digital
transactions, governance and national development.
