MTN South Africa has announced the Top 15 finalists in the 2026 MTN Digital Innovation Challenge, marking another milestone in its efforts to promote youth-led innovation and technology-driven solutions to Africa's development challenges.

Now in its seventh year, the competition encourages university students to develop innovative digital solutions addressing critical sectors including agriculture, education, healthcare, gender-based violence (GBV) and water scarcity.

The programme, delivered in partnership with Enactus South Africa, attracted approximately 130 entries from student innovators across the country. Following a competitive evaluation process, 40 teams were shortlisted to advance in the challenge before the selection of the final 15.

MTN South Africa commended all participants for their creativity and commitment to using technology to solve real-world problems, while congratulating the Top 15 teams for advancing to the next stage of the competition.

The Digital Innovation Challenge forms part of MTN South Africa's broader commitment to nurturing digital talent, supporting entrepreneurship and fostering innovation among young people.
