The Technopolis Development Authority has held high-level discussions with the Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea Eximbank) to explore financing opportunities for priority infrastructure and development projects at Konza Technopolis.

The Korea Eximbank delegation, led by Executive Director Lee Dong-hoon, met with the Authority’s Chief Executive Officer, John Paul Okwiri, to discuss potential financing and grant support for projects aimed at accelerating the development of the technology city.

Among the projects discussed were road expansion, the development of a bio-vaccine facility and the establishment of a Digital Media City.

The discussions also focused on the operationalisation and governance of the proposed Digital Media City, as well as strategies for attracting investors to the development.

The two sides also explored broader areas of cooperation across key sectors, with the discussions centred on supporting innovation, infrastructure development and investment within the technopolis.

The Technopolis Development Authority said the engagement reinforces its efforts to attract international partnerships and investment to support the development of Konza as a technology and innovation hub.

The proposed projects are expected to contribute to the development of infrastructure and digital capabilities as Kenya seeks to strengthen its position as a leading destination for technology, innovation and investment in Africa.
