The Africa Research and
Impact Network (ARIN) has launched Africa’s Climate Finance Outlook 2026,
highlighting emerging trends, regional realities and opportunities to
strengthen climate finance across the continent.
The Outlook was launched on
the first day of the 3rd Annual Africa Climate Finance Conference, where Dr
Akinyi J. Eurallyah presented the report and outlined its key findings on
Africa’s climate finance landscape.
The publication brings
together evidence, regional perspectives and case studies aimed at improving
understanding of Africa’s climate finance needs and identifying pathways
towards more equitable, accountable and impactful financing.
Following the presentation,
a panel discussion moderated by Washington Kanyangi examined the implications
of the Outlook’s findings for policy, practice and climate action. The panel
included Mary Nantongo, Dr Francis Oloo and William Otieno.
The discussions focused on
emerging trends in climate finance, differences across African sub-regions and
opportunities to improve the mobilisation and effectiveness of financing for
climate action.
ARIN said the Outlook is
intended to provide stakeholders with evidence and perspectives that can
support stronger approaches to financing climate responses that reflect
Africa’s priorities and realities.
The conference is expected
to provide a platform for stakeholders to continue discussions on how climate
finance can be strengthened to deliver more inclusive and impactful outcomes
across Africa.
