Rwanda and Canada have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in innovation, education and technology during a farewell meeting between Rwanda’s Minister of ICT and Innovation, Hon. Paula Ingabire, and Canada’s High Commissioner to Rwanda, Julie Crowley.

The meeting took place as Crowley concludes her tour of duty in Rwanda and provided an opportunity to recognise her contribution to strengthening relations between the two countries.

During the courtesy call, the two sides exchanged views on areas of cooperation between Rwanda and Canada, with particular attention to innovation, education and technology.

The engagement also provided an opportunity to reflect on the progress of bilateral relations during Crowley’s tenure and discuss areas where cooperation can continue to deliver mutual benefits.

Rwanda’s Ministry of ICT and Innovation said the meeting underscored the importance of continued collaboration between the two countries in sectors that are central to Rwanda’s digital transformation and broader development agenda.

The farewell engagement marks the conclusion of Crowley’s diplomatic assignment in Rwanda while highlighting the continued importance of Rwanda-Canada cooperation in technology, innovation and education.
