Sonatel is participating in
the fifth edition of the Rentrée Numérique de GAINDE 2000 in Dakar, where
public and private sector leaders are examining how digital technology is
shaping Africa’s geostrategic position and the continent’s digital future.
The two-day event, was organised
under the theme “Digital technology at the heart of geostrategic dynamics: the
African challenge.”
The gathering brought
together public and private sector stakeholders, experts, innovators and
decision-makers to discuss major issues affecting Africa’s digital
transformation, including artificial intelligence, digital sovereignty,
inclusion, cybersecurity and disinformation.
As a major player in
Africa’s digital sector, Sonatel contributed to the discussions through
participation in several panel sessions addressing the opportunities and
challenges associated with the continent’s evolving digital landscape.
The Sonatel Group also
showcased its digital solutions and initiatives at an exhibition stand,
highlighting its contribution to digital transformation and the development of
technology-driven services.
The discussions come as
African countries seek to strengthen digital sovereignty, expand inclusive
access to technology and develop stronger capabilities in areas such as
artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
The event provides a
platform for stakeholders to exchange experiences and explore strategies for
ensuring that Africa’s digital transformation strengthens the continent’s
economic competitiveness and strategic autonomy.
