The Technopolis Development
Authority has entered into a strategic collaboration with Global Africa
Diaspora Transformation Strategy (GADTS) Ltd to support major investment and
development initiatives at Konza Technopolis, Kenya’s flagship Smart City.
The partnership will focus
on e-mobility and green transport infrastructure, including the deployment of
electric vehicles, development of local assembly facilities and expansion of
charging infrastructure.
The collaboration will also
support sustainable waste management and circular economy solutions as part of
efforts to promote environmentally sustainable development within Konza
Technopolis.
A major component of the
partnership is the proposed development of Konza Medical City, which is
envisioned to include a 1,000-bed Level 6 Teaching, Research and Referral
Hospital.
The partners will also
explore the establishment of a Bio-Bank and a wider health innovation ecosystem
to strengthen medical research, healthcare innovation and specialised services.
ICT and digital
infrastructure will form another key area of collaboration, with potential
investments in data centres, technology incubation, telemedicine and digital
health solutions.
The initiatives are intended
to bring together investment, technology and innovation to support sustainable
development at Konza Technopolis while creating infrastructure and services
capable of serving Kenya and the wider region.
