Ethiopian financial technology company Arifpay has partnered with Fasteco to provide digital payment services for electric scooters operating in Addis Ababa, supporting the city’s efforts to expand cleaner and more connected urban mobility.

The partnership will enable riders to make secure and seamless digital payments for Fasteco’s electric scooters, which are part of the emerging electric vehicle mobility ecosystem in the Ethiopian capital.

Arifpay said the collaboration is aimed at making electric vehicle mobility more accessible, convenient and affordable as Ethiopia embraces cleaner and more sustainable transportation solutions.

Through its payment infrastructure, Arifpay will support a frictionless payment experience for riders using Fasteco’s electric scooters, allowing digital transactions to become part of the mobility service.

The partnership comes as Addis Ababa continues to embrace modern transportation solutions and reflects the growing intersection between fintech and urban mobility.

Arifpay said its collaboration with Fasteco is intended to support the city’s modernization efforts while contributing to a greener transportation ecosystem.

The company said the partnership goes beyond enabling payments, with the two companies seeking to contribute to the development of a smarter and more connected Addis Ababa through digital financial services and electric mobility.
