The Technopolis Development
Authority has held discussions with Korean partners on completing ongoing work
and strengthening collaboration to advance the Kenya Advanced Institute of
Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST), a key anchor institution at Konza Technopolis.
The delegation, led by
Technopolis Development Authority CEO John Paul Okwiri, paid a courtesy visit
to Bomi E&C Consortium in the Republic of Korea, where it engaged with CEO
Kim Hak Hyun and the KAIST–SAMOO–SUNJIN Consortium project consultancy team.
The consultancy team was led
by Prof. So Young Kim and SUNJIN Senior Executive Vice President Dae-Am Chun.
The discussions focused on
the progress of ongoing work and ways to strengthen collaboration among the
partners to support the delivery of Kenya-AIST.
Kenya-AIST is positioned as
a key institution within Konza Technopolis and is expected to contribute to
Kenya’s development of advanced science, technology, research and innovation
capabilities.
The engagement reaffirmed
the partners’ shared commitment to advancing the institute while strengthening
the wider knowledge and innovation ecosystem being developed at Konza
Technopolis.
The visit forms part of
ongoing collaboration between Kenya and its Korean partners to support the
development of institutions and infrastructure underpinning Konza Technopolis
and Kenya’s broader science, technology and innovation ambitions.
