The OPAIA Group has
strengthened its cooperation with the Angolan space sector through a working
visit to the National Space Programme Management Office (GGPEN) ahead of World
Space Week 2026.
The visit was led by OPAIA
Group CEO Agostinho Kapaia, with the delegation received by the Director
General of GGPEN, Dr. Zolana João.
The meeting focused on
aligning activities and coordinating the OPAIA Group’s participation in the
ninth edition of World Space Week in Angola, scheduled to take place from 4 to
10 October.
The OPAIA Group is one of
the official sponsors of World Space Week 2026. Its participation is expected
to reinforce cooperation between the business sector and the Angolan space
ecosystem while promoting opportunities for partnership, innovation and technological
development.
World Space Week is an
international initiative promoted by the United Nations. In Angola, the ninth
consecutive edition is coordinated by the Ministry of Telecommunications,
Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), through GGPEN and
its partners.
The 2026 edition is being
held under the international motto “Rocket Revolution”, with the national
sub-theme “Space as an engine of development: connectivity, knowledge and
opportunities for Angola.”
The programme provides a
platform for stakeholders to participate in activities focused on the role of
space technology in connectivity, knowledge creation and development
opportunities in Angola.
