Rwanda Space Agency Chief
Executive Officer Gaspard Twagirayezu has held discussions with global space
leaders at the ongoing International Astronautical Congress (IAC) 2026 in
Antalya, Türkiye, to advance Rwanda’s space programme and strengthen international
partnerships.
Twagirayezu participated in
the 3rd IAF Global Space Leaders Summit, themed “The New Space Era: Global
Challenges, Strategic Opportunities and Responsible Governance,” where
discussions focused on partnerships and priorities shaping the future of space.
During the summit, he
highlighted the importance of using space technology and international
collaboration to address challenges on Earth.
He also met with NASA Deputy
Administrator Matt Anderson to build on Rwanda’s commitment to the Artemis
Accords, which the country signed in 2022.
In addition, Twagirayezu
held discussions with the UK Space Agency to strengthen existing partnerships
and explore new areas of collaboration.
The engagements form part of
Rwanda Space Agency’s efforts to expand international cooperation and advance
the country’s space ambitions through partnerships with global space
institutions.
